Airdrieonians FC have officially announced the signing of Luke Bradley-Morgan on yesterday. The defender joins Airdrie from English Championship side Stoke City.
The 20-year-old has put his sign under a one season spell. On the Diamonds website the left-sided centre back shared his happiness about getting the deal done. “It’s been going on for a couple of weeks to get me out here, but finally it’s done and I’m happy to be here.”
“I’ve heard it’s a great division to play in and a great club to play for, so I just want to get started and get the feel of it.”
Bradley-Morgan so far made five appearances for the Jamaica U20 squad, while playing once in the Premier League 2 youth competition representing Stoke City. The 1.84 m centre-back carries both Jamaican and English citizenship.
At Airdrie Bradley-Morgan hopes to develop his ball playing skills as a defender. “I’d say I’m a ball-playing centre-half. Obviously I played at Chelsea, so I’ve got the fundamentals to play and be on the ball. Being at Stoke it’s the other side of the game, getting physical and aggressive. I feel I’ve got everything to be a ball-playing centre-half and an aggressive defender.”
After their 5-0 loss against Dundee FC last weekend in the League Cup and a 6-1 defeat against Ayr United, the men from player-manager Rhys McCabe face a visit to Queen’s Park today.
