Kilmarnock FC has announced to have secured the sign of Oliver Bainbridge today. The left-sided defender has agreed a loan deal for one season at Rugby Park.
The 19-year-old English defender joins from Championship side Sunderland AFC, where he is yet to make his debut in the first team. Last season the 1.90 meter / 6.2 ft defender played his matches in the Sunderland AFC Under 18 squad. The move to Kilmarnock will be the defender’s first chance to play in a senior top tier squad.
On the club’s X account Kilmarnock shared that the defender will be able play in the opener against Celtic on Sunday. This may indicate that Oliver Bainbridge could be selected by Derek McInnes to make his debut against last season’s champions this weekend.
