Arbroath F.C.

Arbroath F.C. or Arbroath Football Club is a semi-professional Scottish football club located in the county Angus town of Arbroath. The team relegated from the Scottish Championship in the 2023/2024 season after finishing 10th on the table. As of the 2024/2025 season the team plays in the Scottish League 1.

The club was founded in the year 1878 and plays home matches at Gayfield Park stadium. The team plays in maroon strips and carry the nickname “The Red Lichties” because of the red light that used to guide fishing boats back from the North Sea towards the town’s Burgh’s harbour.

Arbroath F.C. has an old and intense rivalry with their local neighbours Montrose, as well as with local sides Brechin City and Forfar Athletic.
