The Border Amateur Football League or BAFL is a Scottish football league for amateur football clubs in southern Scotland’s Scottish Borders region.
The league was originally founded in 1936 and is part of the Scottish Amateur Football Association, the organising body for amateur football across Scotland. The Border Amateur Football League has 31 member teams. The teams are divided into three divisions, called A, B and C. The teams from all three divisions also compete for the league’s Waddell Cup and (if they enter) the South Cup and Scottish Amateur Cup.
The Border Cup and Beveridge Cup are specifically competed for by teams in the the A division. The Wright Cup and Walls Cup is subsequently competed for by teams in the B division. The Sanderson Cup and Collie Cup is earmarked for teams in the league’s C division.
The Forsyth Cup is a consolation tournament that allows teams that are knocked out in the preliminary and first round of the Waddell Cup to take part.
