Dunfermline Athletic F.C.

Dunfermline Athletic F.C., commonly referred to as The Pars, is a Scottish professional football club located in the city of Dunfermline, Fife. The club currently competes in the Scottish Championship, the second division of the Scottish football piramid. The club’s shirt colors include vertical black and white stripes.

The football club was founded in 1885 and have played their home matches at East End Park ever since. Dunfermline Athletic’s most successful period dates back to te 1960s, in which they won the Scottish Cup in 1961 and 1968 under the management of Jock Stein and George Farm. The club regularly played in Europe during this period, reaching the semi-finals of the 1968–69 European Cup Winners’ Cup under the management of George Farm.

In the 2000s the club went through a period of relative success, reaching the 2004 Scottish Cup Final, the 2006 Scottish League Cup Final and the 2007 Scottish Cup Final. Dunfermline were relegated to the Scottish Premiership in 2007. After a period of financial issues and a full administration in 2013, the fan group Pars United took control of the club.
