The East of Scotland Football League or commonly referred to as EoSFL is a senior football league based in the east and south-east of Scotland. The league forms the sixth to nineth division on the Scottish football piramid. Teams that promote from the East of Scotland Football League go into the Lowland Football League, the fift division on the Scottish football piramid.
The East of Scotland Football League was originally founded in the year 1923. Originally the teams in the league were located in Edinburgh, Lothians and the Scottish Borders. In modern times the league has expanded to encompass other regions as well, including clubs from Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, Fife, Perth and Stirling. The EoSFL currently has 58 member clubs on its roster across four divisions.
Since the 2014–2015 season the EoSFL is part of the Scottish professional football pyramid system. The winners of the EoSFL take part in an end of season promotion play-off. The winner between the South of Scotland Football League champions and West of Scotland Football League champions will promote, although subject to the winner meeting the required licensing criteria (for example, the club meeting the pitch, seating and financial arrangements to go up).
