St Mirren has announced today that it secured an extension of Elvis Bwomono’s contract. The Ugandan international put his sign under an extension deal that binds him to the Scottish Premiership club till the summer of 2025.
After joining the Paisley side in December of 2023, the full-back has come to 13 appearances to date. In his appearances so far the number 42 made no goals or assists for his newest club yet.
St Mirren had the Ugandan international on a short-term deal since coming over, with the option for a one year extension. An option that has now been utilized by the club and player.
In a statement on the club’s website Elvis Bwomono highlighted how he is enjoying his time at the Saints. ”It’s probably the most enjoyable time I’ve had in football both on and off the park. It’s a great squad and I’m excited for next season.”
Manager Stephen Robinson highlighted the development potential of the 25-year old. “He’s still young, a Ugandan international as well, and we’re looking forward to developing him next season. I’m delighted he’s signed the extension.”
As fifth on the Scottish Premiership table, the Saints are in pole position to qualify for European football for the first time since 1987. A key match awaits with 4th placed Kilmarnock tomorrow, in which three points would give Elvis Bwomono and his St Mirren team mates a 2nd round Conference League qualification ticket. The upcoming home game at The SMiSA Stadium will kick off at 3 PM.
